Split Pea Soup (Pressure Cooker)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried split peas
  • 2 onions diced
  • 1 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 large celery diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3/4 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/2 pound ham, smoked sausage or slab bacon, cut into small cubes
  • 5-6 cups water (bouillon cubes are a nice addition but not necessary)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

Place all ingredients  except salt and pepper into pressure cooker. Bring to pressure. Reduce heat and maintain pressure for 12 - 15 minutes. Slowly release pressure as it may end up on your ceiling otherwise. Remove bay leaf and add salt and pepper.
