Valentine's Day Cake Ingredients
In a mixing bowl cream together shortening and sugar; add the eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, cocoa and salt. Fold in 1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in 1 tablespoon vinegar, quickly. Using two, 9 inch layer pans that have been greased and floured. (use heart shaped pans if you have them) Bake at 350° F for 30 to 35 minutes. Filling and Frosting
Cook
milk, flour and salt on low flame to pudding stage. In a mixing
bowl cream together the shortening, margarine, sugar and vanilla; add to
pudding and beat well. Spread between layers and on top and sides. |
