Romance Cake

Ingredients

• 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 4 tablespoons powdered buttermilk
• 9 teaspoons cocoa
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1 teaspoon allspice
• 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
• 2 medium eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup sour cream divided

Frosting

• 1/4 cup butter
• 8 oz package cream cheese
• 1 box confectioners sugar
• 1/4 cup cocoa
• dash cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method 

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9 by 12 by 2 inch cake pan. Mix together the flour, baking powder, buttermilk, cocoa, sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves and allspice. Blend in mayonnaise, eggs, vanilla and half of the sour cream. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed with mixer. Add remaining sour cream and beat two minutes longer. Pour into pan and bake 25 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for a few minutes before removing from pan and frost when cake is completely cooled.

Frosting

Cream butter and cream cheese together until fluffy. Gradually add the sugar, cocoa and cinnamon one at a time until all are well blended. Add vanilla and blend well.
