Vegetable Salad

Ingredients 

  • 1/2 head iceberg lettuce, torn
  • sugar
  • 3 hard cooked eggs, sliced
  • 5 ounces frozen peas, thawed
  • 8 slices bacon, crisp cooked, drained and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing

Method 

In bottom of large bowl, place 1/2 of the lettuce; sprinkle with a little sugar, salt and pepper. Layer eggs on top of lettuce in bowl,. Sprinkle generously with salt. Next, layer in order, peas, remaining lettuce, bacon and cheese. Spread mayonnaise or salad dressing on top, sealing to edge of bowl. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Garnish with slice green onions and paprika, if desired. Toss before serving.
