Super Bowl Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 small green pepper chopped
  • 2 dashes garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • sash Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 (15 oz ) cans light red kidney beans
  • 2 (14 1/2 oz) cans diced tomatoes (I like the Italian zesty if I can find them)
  • 1 envelope (1 1/4 oz) chili seasoning (can be found in any grocery store, pick the brand you like)
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz) cans tomato soup

Method

In a very large pot, brown ground beef; drain off fat. Add onion, green pepper, garlic powder, salt, pepper and 1/2 teaspoon of chili seasoning mix; mix well and simmer over low heat until vegetables are tender. Add kidney beans and stir into meat mixture. Take a large spoon and mash some of the kidney beans. Mix in 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 teaspoon chili seasoning mix. Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally for 15 minutes. Pour in diced tomatoes; fill one of the cans with water and stir into chili. Cook on low heat until boiling, stirring occasionally, add in 1 teaspoon chili mix and continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes. Turn off heat and let stand 15 minutes. Add tomato soup; fill each can full of water and stir in. Turn heat to medium low and add remaining chili seasoning mix. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 40 to 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
