Brown Bread



Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 1/2 cup butter (milk)
- 1 1/4 cup corn (whole wheat flour 1 1/4 cup meal)
- 1 1/4 cup flour (rye )
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup molasses (dark )
- 1 cup raisin (s)
Directions:
Stir together the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add the buttermilk, molasses and raisins. Mix by hand until well blended. Divide the mixture into two pars. Place each in a waxed paper lined baking dish that are 10 by 6 by 1 3/4 inches. Cover each with a plastic wrap. Microwave one loaf at a time on medium for 22 to 24 minutes. Turn dish a half turn halfway through cooking. Remove plastic wrap. Place on a solid surface for about 10 minutes before removing from baking dish. Yield: 2 loaves
