Bread Pudding



Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 cup water (boiling )
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 6 bread (slices toasted , buttered and cut into 1 inch pieces)
- 3/4 cup raisin (s)
- 1 cup cheese (grated sharp cheddar )
Directions:
Place sugar in a heavy pan. Stir sugar, at low heat, until it is liquefied and light, golden brown. Add water and stir constantly until sugar is dissolved. Add syrup and simmer for 2 - 3 minutes. Layer bread, raisins, and cheese in a 1 1/2 quart buttered casserole dish. Pour hot syrup over mixture and top with cheese. Cover dish and bake in a 350 F oven for 2 to 30 minutes. Yield: 6 servings
