Fry Cakes



Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoon butter (melted )
- 1 cup butter (milk)
- 4 cup flour (sifted )
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla ( extract)
- 3 egg (s)
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon soda
Directions:
Beat eggs, add sugar, melted butter, vanilla and buttermilk. Add dry ingredients, mix well and cover. Leave in the refrigerator overnight. Roll out dough until about 1/2 inch thick. Cut out. Fry in hot lard or shortening until brown. Yield: about 3 dozen
