Brownie Pie a La Mode 

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 
  • 2 tablespoons water 
  • 1 1/3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips 
  • 2 eggs 
  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour 
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) 
  • favorite flavor ice cream 
  • fudge sauce (optional) 
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Method 

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 inch pie plate. In medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, just until mixture boils. Remove from heat; immediately add chocolate chips, stirring until melted. Add eggs; beat with a spoon until well blended. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; stir into chocolate mixture. Stir in vanilla and chopped nuts; pour into prepared pie plate. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until almost set. (Pie will not test done in center.) Cool completely. Cut into wedges. Serve topped with scoops of ice cream. Drizzle with Fudge Sauce, if desired 

Yield: 8 - 10 servings. 

Fudge Sauce 

  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips 
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk 
  • 1/4 cup sugar 
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine

In medium microwave safe bowl, combine all ingredients.  Microwave at Hi (100 %) 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until hot. With wire whisk, beat until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. 
Yield: about 1 1/2 cups
