Egg Custard Pie 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup sugar 
  • 2 eggs 
  • 2 egg yolks 
  • few grains salt 
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 
  • 2 1/2 cups hot milk 
  • 9 or 10 inch unbaked pie shell 

Method 

Beat sugar, eggs, egg yolks and salt until perfectly smooth. Add hot milk gradually, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Bake at 450ºF for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 325 F and continue baking for 20 to 25 minutes or until filling is set.
