Apple Cinnamon Crumb Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamon

  • 1 pastry crust

  • 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour

  • 1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled tart apples

  • 2 tablespoons butter

Method

Preheat oven to 375ºF. In large bowl stir together ½ cup brown sugar, flour, ¾ teaspoon cinnamon and cardamon. Add apple slices, toss well to coat. Line 9-inch pie plate with crust, leaving ½ inch edge to crimp. Spoon apples into crust. Stir together 2/3-cup brown sugar. ½ cup flour and ½ teaspoon cinnamon, sprinkle over apples. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until fruit is tender and golden. Cool 2 hours before serving.
