At the start of the Vietnam war when the government was conscripting, an Englishman, Irishman and Scotsman where
conscripted to go and fight in the war and when they received their letters, they where told to go and report for their medical and when they where passed fit they where to immediately report for training. Each one of them did not want to go and they where all hoping and praying that they doctor would fail them unfit for active service on medical grounds. The Englishman comes out of the doctors and said this is the best news I have heard all my life I am celebrating, the doctor said I am unfit for service I have the big FF, the other two said what is the big FF, flat feet he replied. The Scotsman comes out of the doctors and gives a big hooray great news best I have heard all my life, I am not going to war, doctor said I was unfit I have the big CB. What is the big CB, color blindness he replied. Paddy comes out of the doctors and is doing cartwheels saying this calls for celebration, the best news I have had all my life. the doctor said I will never see a war in my life and I am totally unfit I have the
big LC. What is the big LC asked the others. Lung Cancer he replied. 
 

 

Potato Pie Dessert
Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound boiled potatoes
  • 1/4 pound butter, melted
  • 3/4 pound sugar
  • 3 cups almonds pounded
  • 1 tablespoon orange extract
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 fluid ounces Irish whiskey
Method

Mash the potatoes until lump free. 
Separate the yolks and whites of the eggs and beat separately; the yolks until lemon colored, the whites until stiff. 
Add the almonds, orange extract, sugar and egg yolks to the potatoes; mix well, then add the glass of whiskey, and when combined, fold in the egg whites. 
Have ready a greased and floured cake pan with a greased piece of paper/baking parchment in the bottom. (Or alternately, prepare 2 pie crusts and fill them with the mixture.) 
Bake at  375F for 40- 45 minutes.
