Spicy Sausage Rolls Preparation
Time: 20 minutes Ingredients
Method Heat oven to 425°F. Sift flour into a bowl and using 2 knives cut in butter until mixture is pea sized pieces. Stir in cottage cheese and add 2 tablespoons ice water to mix to a stiff dough. Divide into 6. Roll each piece of pastry to a 6 by 3 inch rectangle. Spread with mustard, then roll around sausages, brushing edges with water to seal. Place seam side down on a baking tray and brush with egg and milk beaten together. Prick once or twice with a fork and bake for 25 minutes until pastry is golden and crisp. Slice into one inch pieces and serve with Dijon mustard on the side. Tip: Prepare ahead of time and store in refrigerator. Bake when required and serve hot. |
