If alcohol is going to be served, a very big must is be responsible to yourself and your guests. Tell your guests ahead of time that car keys will have to handed over at the front door as they arrive. Make sure they know that either they will have a place to stay for the night or an alternate way home will be provided. Better to be safe then sorry. Remember you would never be able to forgive yourself if a friend got hurt.

Remember this is a fun event, so make it easy on yourself so you can relax and enjoy. Instead of a sit down meal, that is a lot of work! plan lots of finger foods, appetizers and snack food. Make sure there is lots of food, cause the more they snack the less they drink.

Be sure and serve lots of non alcoholic drinks, like sodas, punches water, coffee, tea and juices to give your guests another option.

If you decide to serve buffet style, set up your buffet tables early with lots of decorations, and then just before the first guest arrives, fill your table with all the goodies.

Use paper plates, paper napkins, and paper cups, have easy access to dispose of these. Makes it much easier for your clean up the next day.
