Almond Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 
  • 1 cup sugar 
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa 
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder 
  • Pinch of salt 
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted 
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract 
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds 
  • 1 cup cold water


METHOD

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and 
salt into a 9 inch square baking pan.  Add the butter, almond extract, vinegar, almonds and water.  Stir well until blended.  Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until a knife comes out clean.  Remove and cool on a rack. 
Cut into 16 squares.
