Homemade Jams and Jellies

Sun Jam

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds ripe strawberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Method

Wash berries well. Hull and cut in half and slightly mash. Put all ingredients in a pan and boil for about 5 minutes, without stirring. Remove from heat and cool for thirty minutes. Pour mixture into baking pan, (9 by 9 inch) and cover with plastic wrap. Place outside in sunlight for 3 to 8 hours, until it is thick. Pour into a jar and chill or use right away.
