Caramel Nut Frosting 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup light cream or you can use milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch salt


Method 

In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, salt, cream and butter. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat and cook for five minutes, whisking constantly. Lower the heat if necessary. Stir in the nuts and vanilla and keep warm. Spread the warm frosting over cake the minute it comes out of the oven.
