BROWN SUGAR FUDGE FROSTING

Ingredients 

  • 2 cups brown sugar 
  • 2/3 cup milk 
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup 
  • 4 tablespoons butter 
  • few grains salt 
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 
Method 

Combine all ingredients together (except for vanilla) in a large saucepan. Bring to boiling point over medium heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Boil without stirring until mixture reaches the soft ball stage (238°F). Cool to lukewarm. Add vanilla and beat vigorously until creamy and stiff enough to spread.

YIELD: 
Enough for large layer cake.
