Egg White Icing

Ingredients
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 5 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

Combine salt, sugar, cream of tartar, and water. Place on stove top on medium heat and bring to a full rolling boil. Remove from heat and pour over unbeaten egg whites; beat until stiff. Add vanilla.
