Butter Cream Frosting 3

Ingredients 

  • 2 cups shortening 
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons meringue powder 
  • 2 pounds powdered sugar 
  • 1/2 cup water 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter extract 
  • 1/2 tablespoon rum extract 
Method 

Put sugar, shortening and meringue powder into mixing bowl.  Put water in cup and dissolve in the salt and extracts.  Pour liquids over the dry ingredients.  Start mixing slowly and once everything is incorporated, whip on high for about 8 - 10 minutes. 

Note: The extract flavors are changeable depending on flavor you want. You may use vanilla, orange, lemon, almond and mint, the 
amount is still total of 1 tablespoon.
