Satin Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 (1 ounce squares) unsweetened chocolate 
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon butter or margarine 
  • 5 2/3 cups powdered sugar; sifted 
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon milk 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 


Method 

Combine chocolate and butter in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts. Remove from heat, and cool. Add powdered sugar and milk to chocolate mixture; beat at low speed of an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in vanilla.   

Yield: 3 cups.
