Honey Poached Pears Ingredient
Peel pears, leaving stem intact. Trim bottom of each pear to form a flat base. Brush pears with small amount of lemon juice as they are peeled to prevent discoloration. Combine next 4 ingredients in a large Dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Add pears; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 to 25 minutes or until pears are tender. Beat whipping cream until thickened ( but not stiff); pour into a shallow serving dish. Stand pears upright in cream; garnish with orange rind strips Yield: 10 servings Submitted by: Y. Hoglund |
