Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sweet butter 
  • 3 cups flour 
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar 

Method 

Cream butter thoroughly; add sugar and mix well.  Then gradually add flour until mixture becomes pliable.  Roll into desired shape.  
May be topped with blanched almond halves. Bake in slow oven at 300F for about 20 minutes or until almonds are browned.  
Do not over bake or they will harden.  
The cookie should be whitish.
