Oat Melties
Ingredients
- 1 cup
butter or margarine
- 1 cup
firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1
tablespoon freshly grated orange peel
- 2 cups
quick cooking oats
- 1 cup
all purpose flour
- 1 (12
ounce package) (1 3/4) cups M & M's semi sweet chocolate baking

Method
Preheat
oven to 350° F. In a bowl, beat butter, sugar and orange peel
until light and fluffy.
Add oatmeal and flour, mix
until well blended. Stir in M & M's. Shape dough into 1
1/2 inch balls; place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press
balls very lightly to flatten using the bottom of a glass.
Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until
golden around edges. Cool cookies 10 minutes on cookie sheet before
transferring to plate. Store in tightly covered container.
Yield:
about 3 dozen cookies.
