Dominoes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup
butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup
sugar
- 1 egg;
beaten
- 2 1/4
cups all purpose flour
- 3
tablespoons cocoa powder
Butter Frosting
- 1/3 cup
butter
- 1 cup
plus 2 tablespoons confectioner's sugar; sifted
- A few
drops of vanilla
Method
Cream
the butter and sugar together and add the egg. Sieve
the flour, cocoa powder and slat together and work into the butter
mixture.
Knead the dough and roll it
out between two sheets of wax paper. Cut
out rectangles, about 1 1/4 by 2 3/4 inches. Mark
a line across the center of the biscuits using a skewer.
Bake the cookies on a greased
cookie sheet for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
Frosting:
Soften butter and beat in the
frosting sugar.
You may need to add a few
drops of hot water if the frosting is too firm. Add
vanilla to taste.
If you want to sandwich the
cookies together, so with a little of the butter frosting.
Decorate the top of the
dominoes with dots (they should all have a line across the
middle), using a pastry bag
fitted with a plain tip.
