Pan Fried Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon butter 
  • 1 tablespoon oil 
  • 1 onion, finely minced 
  • 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced 
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, diced 
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped 
  • 2 tablespoons basil 
  • 6 chicken thighs 
  • 1/2 cup honey 
  • 3 cloves garlic 
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce 
  • 1/4 cup and 1 tablespoon white wine 
  • to taste salt and pepper 

Method 

Heat oil and butter in frying pan. Add onion, mushrooms, green pepper, black pepper, parsley and basil. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. Reduce heat to simmer. Add chicken. Cook for 30 minutes turning occasionally (4 - 6 times). Add honey, garlic, soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon wine. Cook additional 10 - 15 minutes, until chicken is done. Turn frequently to coat chicken with sauce. When done, remove chicken from pan. Increase heat to high. When sizzling, add the rest of the wine. Deglaze pan and reduce sauce to half. Use sauce as gravy.
