Believe
It or Not Cake
Ingredients
- 2
teaspoons butter
- 1 cup
sugar
- 1
teaspoon baking soda
- 10½
ounce tomato soup can
- 2 cups
flour
- ½
teaspoon salt
- 2
teaspoon baking powder
- 2
teaspoon cinnamon
- 1½
teaspoon cloves, ground
- ¼
teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup
raisins
- 1 cup
nuts, lightly dredged in flour
Method
Cream
butter and sugar. Add soda to soup.
Beat into creamed mixture. Mix
and sift flour, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and baking powder. Add
to first mixture; beat well.
Add raisins and chopped nuts. Turn
into greased and floured 12 x 8 x 2 inch cake pan.
Bake at 350°F 40 minutes.
While still warm spread with
your favorite cream
cheese frosting.
