Ingredients
- 1 1/2
cups all purpose flour
- 2
teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2
teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup
butter
- 3/4 cup
sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup
milk
- 1 cup
sliced maraschino cherries
Method
Stir
flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cream butter, gradually add
sugar and cream well until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a
time, beating well after each addition. Add dry ingredients
alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients,
beating after each addition only until smooth.
Fold in maraschino cherries
that have been dredged with flour. Bake in a greased 9 inch by 5
inch by 3 inch loaf pan lined with waxed paper, in a moderate oven
(350°F) 50 to 55 minutes.
Serve plain
