Apple Cake 1 

Ingredients 

• 1 package Duncan Hines® Butter Golden Cake mix
• 3 large eggs
• 1 stick butter or margarine
• 2/3 cup water
• 4 apples; pared sliced (4 cups)
• 3 tablespoons sugar
• 4 teaspoon cinnamon
• confectioners sugar; as needed

Method 

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease and flour 10 inch tube pan. Combine dry cake mix; eggs, butter and water in large mixer bowl. Mix cake as directed on package. Turn 2/3 of the batter into pan. Toss apples with sugar and cinnamon. Spoon over batter in pan. Spread remaining batter over apples. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack for 25 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on rack. Sprinkle cooled cake with confectioners sugar.
