Chocolate Cake 1

Ingredients

• no- stick cooking spray
• 1 1/4 cups flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
• 1/4 cup cornstarch
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 4 egg whites
• 1/2 cup water
• 1/2 cup corn syrup
• confectioners sugar; optional

Spray a 9 inch square baking pan. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, soda and salt. In a medium bowl whisk together egg whites, water and corn syrup. Add to flour mixture; stir until smooth. Pour into pan and bake at 350°F for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool. If desired sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
