How
to Make Tea
HOT TEA
- Pour
boiling water in a clean tea pot and let stand a few minutes; empty
- Measure
tea into pot--allow 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per cup. If tea bags are
used--allow 2 bags for 3 cups of tea.
- Pour
freshly boiling water over tea leaves.
- Cover
and let steep 3-5 minutes.
- Stir and
serve; strain, if desired, to remove loose tea leaves.
- Keep
boiling water on hand. Tea becomes stronger on standing and needs to
be diluted if serving seconds.
ICE TEA
Prepare a strong brew. Follow
rules above, using 2 tea bags per cup of boiling water.
Let steep. Pour over glasses
filled with ice cubes. Sweeten if desired. Serve with lemon
slices. If you do like your tea sweetened, melt your sugar in some hot
water, this way the sugar doesn't crystallize
